Friends of Valley Spur and Munising Bay Trail Network are the off spring of NTN. Love this shout out from our parent organization. There's a first time on a trail for everyone. Chase and Ethan liked the "flowy stuff" the most at Valley Spur Trail System - Hiawatha National Forest on Sunday and can't wait to go back. Munising Bay Trail Network - MBTN has been carving out some sweet family-friendly singletrack that now totals nearly 13 miles.
While NTN holds the agreement with the U.S. Forest Service - Hiawatha National Forest to operate trails at Valley Spur, winter ski trails are thanks to the Friends of Valley Spur and the dirt season is all MBTN. Like most trail organizations, they, like us rely on user support and we all now have easy access QR codes to donate in addition to donation pipes at the trailheads.
We hope you supported the trails where you played this weekend, you donate every time you visit, and are member/supporters of the trails you frequent. This support is what makes more, better trails and your trail vacations possible.
Last night the Friends of Valley Spur had Ted Majewski from South Bay Outfitters join us at our monthly meeting to tell us how renting our ski equipment did at his shop in Munising. Due to the lodge not being open this year we teamed up with South Bay Outfitters so skis would be available to rent in Munising. Renting the skis at South Bay Outfitters was a big success. Day rental of skis: 124 adults and 69 kids, 31 adults did all season rental and 34 kids did all season rental. This program will continue next year. At the end of Ted's presentation the Friends of Valley Spur received a $500 Sponsorship check. Thanks goes out to both South Bay Outfitters and East Bay Channel Brewery for their continued support of our ski trails. ... See MoreSee Less
