Take a quiet stroll through the woods and enjoy the beauty that Valley Spur has to offer. We have approximately 5 miles of marked snowshoe trails ranging in length from one half mile to 3 miles. Difficulty ranges from the easy Rabbit loop, traversing a half-mile on fairly level ground, to the more difficult Wolf loop, a 3 mile loop which takes you alongside the Valley Spur creek then up through the hills in the upper terrain of Valley Spur commonly known to the skiers as “Heaven”.

Our most popular loop is the Snowman, a 1.8 mile loop of moderate difficulty which is also the snowshoe course for our annual Snowman Triathlon. The course is challenging at times, and it helps to have crampon style (teeth on bottom) snowshoes. If you prefer traditional wooden snowshoes, that’s OK however you might find it a struggle on some of the steep ups and downs.

Trail maps are available on line.

We will have the Lodge open before and after for warm ups. Good advice would be to leave the big winter jackets behind, one should be chilled at the beginning to avoid overheating during the cardio phase. As the daylight hours are short, headlamps are also a good recommendation.

We plan to meet every Thursday evening at 5:30pm, Come join us!
